He produced the Baptist Atlas in 1980, which examined Baptists worldwide. Wardin also wrote a pamphlet for the Baptist History and Heritage Society, titled Doing Diversity Baptist Style: Major Variations (1991), and Baptists around the World (1995). In addition, Wardin's academic interests concern Baptists in Eastern Europe and in Tennessee.
