Susan J. Glor-Scheib is a Professor of Special Education and Chair of the Education for Exceptional Persons Program in the Special Education and Clinical Services Department of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). She began her career in education 36 years ago as an elementary teacher. After completing a master's degree in special education she worked as a senior developmental specialist for children with cognitive and behavioral needs in a psychiatric hospital setting. Throughout her graduate studies she enjoyed working with middle school students with learning disabilities, and their teachers, in developing programs and curriculua to improve the students' reading and communication skills. Since becoming a professor she has worked in the areas of inclusion, collaboration and transition.
