Autumn wants to be a famous author. Cali wants to be a musican. The twins, Simon-Joe and Lizzie-Ann are famous movie stars. Out of all her friends, Petey seems to be the least ambitious of them all and would rather follow the traditional path of women: get married, raise kids, and never leave the small Catholic town of Miracle, Kentucky.
Even though Petey would rather live in a quiet unproductive life, she has a knack of getting in and out of trouble. Tradition and loyalty always seem to get in her way. She can't help questioning some of the older ways of town and her family; she has a hard time telling her friends "no", especially her best friend Autumn. As they enter their freshman year, she finally discovers boys and starts to question her own ambitions of life.
