Stephanie Bearce, who lives in Missouri, built her first terrarium when she was eight years old. She writes: I used it to hatch a moth cocoon. I let the moth go, but I kept the terrarium. I have been having fun with terrariums ever since. I loved gardens and plants so much that I went to college I took classes in plant science. Stephanie worked as the director of children s education at the Missouri Botanical Garden, where she taught children how to grow plants and how to take care of them. As a science teacher, she has helped her students build terrariums, butterfly gardens, and native plant gardens.
