Review:

The explanations of Geschäftsdeutsch: An Introduction to German Business Culture are clear and complete. This textbook will definitely meet the objectives of my course(s), one of which is to prepare students for the Business German Exam of the Goethe Institute.
The major strengths of Geschäftsdeutsch: An Introduction to German Business Culture are (1) the range of topics covered, (2) the language building exercises, both spoken and written, connected with these topics, (3) the strong cultural content so necessary for anyone interested in working in international business, and (4) the strong emphasis on appropriate business German vocabulary building.
I am particularly pleased to see the addition of Web-based activities that provide interactive assignments and that allow for video or listening comprehension exercises and for individual student research assignments for oral/written reports.
—Dr. William E. Petig, Ph.D., Stanford University

The authors of the materials under review did an outstanding job. They succeeded in creating a coherent and well-conceptualized sequence of educational units. The vast amount of materials, especially because it is further enriched by excellent internet resources, lends itself to usage in a two-semester German course. The level of difficulty in the materials under review is perfect for a fourth or fifth semester, intermediate level language class. The explanations are clear and didactically sound. The fact that all chapters contain vocabulary lists with English translations makes the book even more valuable for American students who are not always skilled in finding their own translations.
—Sandra L. Summers, Ph.D., University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
