About the Author

The identity of Three Initiates has been the subject of much secrecy and rumor since The Kybalion first appeared in 1908. This comprehensive edition definitively establishes the book's sole author as William Walker Atkinson (1862-1932). Philip Deslippe--who introduces and annotates this edition- is a PhD candidate in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara, and holds a BA in English from the University of Connecticut and an MA in American Religious Culture from the University of Iowa.
