Review:
Despite the great increase of new knowledge in neuropsychiatry, the editors of the Fifth Edition have successfully avoided escalating size to impracticality, reducing the textbook's overall length while providing much new information. This magnificent volume will be a rewarding resource to all those who work in the mental health spectrum, from beginning students to the most advanced psychiatric practitioners. --From the Introduction by Solomon H. Snyder, M.D., Distinguished Service Professor of Neuroscience, Pharmacology, and Psychiatry, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland
The fifth edition of textbook of neuropsychiatry and behavioral neurosciences has an impressive list of contributors writing on a broad array of topics ranging from basic principles in neuroscience to neuropsychiatric treatments. The format of the test is particularly well done with extensive figures, guidelines, and references. The supplementary across disciplines as well as text has wide application across disciplines as well as level of education and training. Although the text is sophisticated, it is also written in a style suited for medical students, graduate students, and residents in neuropsychology, psychiatry, and neurology. --Stephen N. Macciocchi, Ph.D., ABPP, PSYCHOLOGY PRESS
