Dragan realizes he’s been surrounded by barbed wires for quite some time, and the wire has unwillingly become an inseparable part of his life. He feels that barbed wire keeps him surrounded in a past that he cannot hide. He understands that collections are not only made of money, objects, gain, or prisoners. They are made of memories as well. Many times memories wake up and become entangled with present events in a confused and chaotic mixture. They are like people who have spent a long time in lethargy and do not realize that time has passed when they wake up, and they are confused by their ravings of another time, causing clashes and shocks. Dragan feels he is living simultaneously in two times: the actual and the remembered. There is a conflict between them, and the past he thought was gone now gets in his way. At that moment, he realizes that the past is like those cannon balls tied to prisoners’ feet, preventing them from running.
