Shadab Vajdi is a Persian language poet who presently lives in London. She is the author of seven collections of poetry in Persian. Her poems have been translated and published in English, French, German, Swedish and Czech. This is the second English language collection of her poems.

Shadab Vajdi is an Iranian poet, linguist, journalist and translator living in Britain. She studied and taught Persian literature in Iran. While in Iran, she also obtained her M.A. in Social Science. In Britain, she joined University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies for research in the field of linguistics and completed her doctorate in linguistics in 1976. Her thesis, A Transformational Approach to the Noun Phrase in Persian, was based on Noam Chomsky's theory of transformation which believes that there is a common structure to the grammars of all languages. Vajdi has also worked as a journalist. For nearly two decades, she worked as a producer for the Persian section of the BBC World Service.
