About the Author
Sheridan Cain lives in London with her husband and lots of pets. She loves reading and is a keen gardener. The many small creatures that visit her garden are an inspiration for her books. She is the author of a number of books, including THE CRUNCHING MUNCHING CATERPILLAR. Gaby Hansen was born in South Africa. She moved to London in 1998 and has illustrated several books for Little Tiger Press. Now living in the countryside in Sussex, she continues her love of art, drawing inspiration from the South Downs.

PreSchool-K–This slight bedtime story finds the moon shining bright as Mother Mouse tucks in her son. Then, along comes Mole to say that the farmer is coming to plow the field, and that the bed should be underground. Other animals suggest where Little Mouse should sleep, but nothing seems right for him. The pair end up back where they started as the farmer has conveniently plowed, and their home in the shelter of the big tree is safe. The adorable animals are drawn in a cartoon style and the night scenes are rendered in attractive pastel colors. Kids will like the sparkles on the moon and the sky and running their fingers over the raised velvety texture of the moon. However, the moon isn't incorporated into the text effectively.
