From the Back Cover:

During the Civil War, the Ozark hills echoed with the sounds of drums and bugles from soldiers clad in blue and gray. Today, many battle sites serve as the resting place for the fallen war heroes, though some residents believe lost spirits still roam the land. From the apparition of a mysterious warrior who frequents Kemper Military School to the buffalo soldier of Baxter Springs who briefly appears before fading away, this ghostly guide leads readers through a history of the Civil War.

About the Author:

Steve Cottrell is a resident of Carthage, Missouri, and a descendant of a cavalry member who served during the Civil War. He has participated in several battle reenactments, including the Academy Award-winning motion picture, Glory . Cottrell is co-author of Civil War in the Ozarks and author of Civil War in the Indian Territory and Civil War in Texas and New Mexico Territory, all published by Pelican.

Book Description Pelican Publishing Company, 2010. Paperback. Condition: New. Language: English . Brand New Book. Between the years of 1861 and 1865, the Civil War raged through the Ozark region, claiming the lives of both Confederate and Union soldiers along the way. While many fallen heroes have been memorialized throughout history, some lost souls were never laid to rest. Evidence of paranormal activity has been detected at such historic sites as the Kendrick House in Missouri, Prairie Grove in Arkansas, and Cabin Creek in Kansas. In an effort to uncover answers, this documentary examines more than a dozen Ozark battle sites and searches for the presence of the supernatural. Each case presents a detailed background of the battle, along with testimony from contemporary witnesses who claim they have heard, or seen, a spirit. Pictures of battle reenactments, images of orbs, and a map of Ozark battles serve as a visual aid. Seller Inventory # AAC9781589808775
