In the near future,at an Arctic research base attempting to drill towards the Earth’s core, a small team of men and women discover what appears to be an alien spaceship, buried over a mile underground billions of years earlier. After successfully reviving the aliens from their suspended animation, the American team collaborates with the aliens to develop and produce a spaceship capable of transporting them back to their area of origin, long since destroyed in a massive planetary collision. Trying to protect the aliens from governmental “experimentation,” dealing with the complications added by these new and different relationships to the already emotional human interpersonal relationships, teaching the highly advanced aliens what it means to love—all these issues create an exciting and thought-provoking novel of alien encounter, space exploration, and the possibilities of interspecies/interplanetary coexistence, cooperation, and love.

Born in Springfield, Vermont, known as one of the possible homes of "The Simpsons" of television fame, Glenn Terris spent his early years there. Terris emulated his hard-working parents by marrying young and launching a career in the plastics manufacturing industry. At the age of 28, he was transferred to Los Angeles as a plant manager for Roper Plastics.
Terris met the love of his life, Linda, two years after his long-term, first marriage ended. He says that he "owes his second chance at life all to her." Though he was successful in the plastics industry in California, he happily chucked it all in and moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1987 to share life with her, a move he calls "the best I ever made."
Terris and his wife spend their free time and funds supporting a Lakota Indian school in South Dakota. His dream is to be "rich enough so Linda and I could spend the rest of our lives helping other people. I live my life dedicated to the woman I married."
Now living in Scappose, Oregon, Terris has retired from working in manufacturing. He remains involved in business, however, as the part-owner of Explorations Inc. of Nevada, a mining and exploration company. Terris is currently at work writing a second book and has a third book in the research stage.Excerpt. © Reprinted by permission. All rights reserved.:
Now only silence prevailed within the entire ship. The observation room, the control room, the recreation room; in all areas of the ship it was silent. It was as if there were only the ghosts of laughter and friendship hanging in the air. The men and women in the cylinders would only age fifteen years but would sleep for 2,500,000 years, all at the speed of light.
The years passed. The centuries passed. Yet each year seemed to represent but a second within the Spaceship Uris, drifting through the blackness of outer space in a New World on their own. They were breaking into a time of their own, becoming the first of what would thereafter become known as the time travelers. They were catching up with the past as they slowed their time to a near dead stop, waiting for the past to catch up. As generations passed on Earth only seconds passed within the ship.
Within the spaceship time was nonexistent. Life was not evident. Silence prevailed interrupted only by the soft sounds emitted by the "Brain."
