The Fly and the Spider is a fictional, factual simulated mystery novel encompassing horror, romance, humor, tragedy, conspiracy, intrigue and exposure evolving three main characters. In graphic detail it depicts the rapes of an altar boy James and a 12 year old girl Kate, resulting in her pregnancy, both by the same pedophile priest, Fr. John, who manipulates within the church to become the first American Pope. The emotions and pain of the victims and the gratification experienced by the pedophile are described in realistic details as the incidents occur. Related are the resulting effects on the victims James and Kate by depicting their successes and failures as they strive to overcome their past experiences and to live a normal life and to find romance and happiness. Fr. John manipulates within the Church to advance in rank and power and to be admired and respected by the general public. The three lives continue to be intertwined though the years and the story is presented in parallel views in sequel time frames The climax occurs when Fr. John, now a Cardinal, is about to execute his plan to become the first American Pope and is confronted by James his son, now a homeless vagrant and a threat to obtaining his goal. The use of strong language at selected times is not intended to be offensive but purposeful.
