They can have heaven, but some don't want to go.
Mankind has largely retreated to the realms of virtual reality, where resources are unlimited and the problems of the world can all be avoided. Unfortunately, those who stay behind in the real world pose the only risk to the immortality of those who have converted to virtual existence. Derek, a soldier in the Conversion Forces (ConFoes), seeks to enforce the Mandatory Conversion Act on the remaining mals (malcontent Luddites, gangbangers, and religious fanatics). He is forced to deal with the increasingly brutal tactics of the ConFoes, and a mal ambush. And that's only the beginning.
When Moore's Law meets God's Law, the result is forced conversion.

Technology can be a wonderful thing, when it's not ruining the world completely.
Most science fiction deals with worlds transformed by technological advance. Forced Conversion highlights the troubling and chaotic process of that transformation, itself. It combines the adrenaline-soaked action of military fiction with the extrapolation of current scientific trends of the best speculative fiction, while dealing with the moral and religious implications of both war and technology.
When Moore’s Law meets God’s Law, the result is forced conversion.
Donald J. Bingle lives in St. Charles, Illinois. This is his first published novel. From the Author:
I know that my novel, Forced Conversion, came out years ago, so it may seem an odd time for me to post a blog about it, but I just recently got the ability to update my page via Amazon's Author Central and this is my first chance to chat with readers directly from the page for my book.
First of all, thanks to all of you who posted reviews. I really appreciate it. It shows that you read my book (an incredibly important thing to an author, whether you bought it, borrowed it, or read it in the library) and cared enough about my writing to share your thoughts. Reviews and word-of-mouth is what sells books that are not published by big time authors or written by famous authors. I have also written a lot of stories for various anthologies that have probably sold more copies each than I sold of my novel, but very few of those anthologies get reviews, most especially thoughtful reviews. So having a bunch of people who read my book post reviews really charges me up.
And whether or not you've posted a review, I'd love to hear from you. Not just what you thought of my novel, but what questions you have about it or how I came to write it, what you think happens after the book ends, whether you liked or disliked various aspects of it, and what confused or troubled you. If your book club reads any of my novels, I also may be available (schedule permitting) to chat with your group by phone or (locally) in person. I also sometimes speak at writing, gaming, or science fiction conventions about writing, writers groups, gaming, science fiction, time travel, writing on demand, short story writing techniques, and the like.
The forum is now open.
