As with many writers, Oscar Green’s life has been both interesting and varied. He was born in New York City on May 28, 1918, grew up in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and graduated from college in Virginia. Following discharge from the Army, Oscar joined General Electric Company as a machine operator. He later became a mechanical tester, then an engineering technician on Project Gemini of the Space Program. There he helped test and approve the fuel cell used on Gemini Flight Seven. In 1965, he became a technical writer. He retired from General Electric in 1981, as a senior technical writer and as a ember of management. Oscar also served as a book reviewer for THE BOSTON GLOBE for ten years. He has been a Trustee at the Medford (Massachusetts) Public Library, and he was a Director at the Medford Savings Bank. He is the author of 200 technical articles, and he has written thirteen technical books. He was one of fifteen applicants, selected from 2400 to attend the Guideposts Sixth Writers Workshop in 1977. His stories have appeared in sixteen national publications. He is presently a contributing writer to the Daily Guideposts Annual.
