We fi rst met Eric Johnson in Jack Hillman's fi rst epic novel There Are Giants In This Valley (ArcheBooks). Eric Johnson is back. When Eric Johnson moved from Philadelphia a year ago, he didn't have any friends in the Lehigh Valley. Now he has a lot of them, just not the usual sort for a twelve-year old boy. Aside from Tommy Kuhns and Stephanie Fuller-two young children his own age-Eric's house is often visited by Norse Gods, Rock Dwarves, Valkyr, and unfortunately the occasional Frost Giant. And most teens aren't caught up in a war that crossed multiple dimensions. Now the Frost Giants are trying to get access to Enigma Caverns and the Lost River, so they can continue their battle against the Aesir and conquer the people of Earth as well. Eric, Tommy and Stephanie have to fi nd out why the Giants really want the Lost River and stop the Giants from taking control of Enigma Caverns. When Eric is thrown into the Lost River and disappears, things really start to get strange! Follow the continuing saga of the Giant's War trilogy-a classic adventure of young children in amazing settings-and fi nd out where the Lost River really comes out!

About the Author:
Jack Hillman is a rather mundane individual who lives in a cave on the west side of the Lehigh Valley. Working as a mild mannered mortality underwriter by day, Jack leaves his office each night to enter the secret confines of his dark lair where he creates strange and ominous creatures who conspire in even more strange and ominous ways to rule the universe or destroy mankind, all while comparing notes on recipes for chocolate soufflés. In his alter-ego as a mild-mannered reporter, Jack has written over 2500 non-fiction articles over the past twenty years, including several medical articles based on his background as a clinical psychologist specializing in abnormal psychology. Due to a computer glitch which released supposedly secure information to the world, Jack has seen over three dozen short stories, four stage plays, several poems and two novels published or performed for consumption by unsuspecting citizens of this and several other planets. In his spare time, Jack herds cats and collects obscure weapons for use in his literary works.
