What is Reiki? And what has it got to do with Christian healing? Alice Mindrum, Episcopal priest and Reiki master teacher, shares the story of Reiki and her own journey from being healed to becoming a healer. You will be introduced to how Reiki “works,” as well as the ways in which Reiki is taught, learned and practiced, particularly in the Christian context. Mindrum explores Reiki through the lens of Christian scripture and the history of our healing tradition. You will also discover the common threads of healing in the world’s largest religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism. You will be inspired by stories from Reiki practitioner’s, and from Christians who have received Reiki. Reiki is a rapidly growing practice in America today. While some Christians regard it with suspicion, Mindrum helps you understand how the healing practice encompasses all religions and is rooted in Christian theology. If you are looking to understand how connecting wtih God can heal or how you might practice the healing ministry in your church or community, this book is the perfect place to start your journey. "This is the book that so many of us have been waiting for. Finally we have some definitive answers to end the debate on Reiki and Christianity. Alice Mindrum, an Episcopal priest, answers with authority and great wisdom the questions that have been raised about Reiki and Christianity. Taught, learned and practiced in a Christian context, Reiki and Christian healing—through the Spirit of God—are a powerful match." Gigi Benanti, Reiki Master and Owner, Angelic Healing Center "Alice Mindrum has given us a compact but complete examination of the place of Reiki in the life of a person of faith. This book is encouraging to those who are daunted by it, discussing with gentle candor the ways in which the healing traditions we have inherited express the truth that Reiki employs to bring healing and ease suffering. I would imagine that her concise "short histories" of the major world religions, which she pairs with Reiki in subsequent essays she calls "conversations," will be of particular use to those who are worried that the use of this gift will be at odds with their religious identity." The Rev. Barbara Crafton, priest, author "Alice is an exceptional writer and researcher. I found her book extremely informative and insightful. I recommend it to anyone wanting a deeper understanding of the important role healing plays in the Christian faith." William Lee Rand, President, The International Center for Reiki Training. "Reiki has taught me the oneness of humanity and the environment we live in,and I believe that Alice Mindrum's book will enlighten us even further." Frank Arjava Petter, Reiki Master, author, founder of Reikidharma website
