In the fall of 1946, grieving war widow Sarah goes to the carnival with her friends and is riveted by the tattooed man in the freak show, sporting head to toe body art. Later she discovers him hiding in her hayloft, escaped from virtual imprisonment since childhood by the carnival's evil owner. She shelters him on her farm, fighting a powerful sexual attraction while learning about his mysterious past and gentle nature.

Bone Deep was one of the first books I wrote (after the co-written Finding Home) and is still one of my most popular stories. Who doesn't love reading about an outcast finding a home at last? Who hasn't felt like an outsider at some point in their life? The story speaks to us all, I think. An "unloveable" person finding love at last is my favorite one to tell, and you'll see many variations of the theme in my books. Hope you read and enjoy Bone Deep, and if you do, you might check out A Hearing Heart or Captive Bride. From the Inside Flap:
Other of my books similar in tone and theme to Bone Deep: A Hearing Heart, Captive Bride and Perfecting Amanda.
