This is a story of one woman's journey-her story of hope and healing on the path to discovering true love! He loves me. He loves me not. He loves me. He loves me not... Remember this childhood game of determining the fate of your elementary school crush. With a row of lilac bushes beside the home I grew up in, I could check minute by minute what that cute boy thought of me. Unfortunately, too many little girls grow in to young women still wondering if they are loved or not. I remember the night God gave me the question to ask Janel that changed her life forever. "What is it you really want in life?" Her response, "I just want to be loved." I knew the solution to that problem, but it was up to her to accept it. She had a void in her inner being that she had already tried to fill with many other things. The world had lied to her, as it does to anyone who does not know the truth. But, God's word promises that when you know the truth, it will set you free. Janel accepted the truth of God's word the night she accepted Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, into her heart. Janel was instantly free from the control of alcohol and the bondage of depression. I pray that each and every reader of this book will know that there is a way to break free from everything that is oppressing you. Janel's story is not final. She continues to shout from the mountain top about God's goodness in her life, and at times she is still walking through the valley of the shadow of death. But, the good news is, she no longer has taken up residence in the valley, but walks through it in Christ, who always causes His children to triumph. If you have gone through or are going through the Fire, look forward to being refined by God. Then, you too, can do good works in Christ, just as Janel is by sharing her story in order to help others experience hope, healing, and the true love of Jesus Christ. Rhonda K. (Author's cousin)
