Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 3rd Edition. SET OF TWO. The Seeger book is clean overall, with rubbing to spine and a faint ink stamp from a guitar school to the exterior of the front wrap. The original 1962 price is ink stamped to the inside of the front wrap. Otherwise remarkably well preserved, with no names, marks, underlining, dogears etc. and no loose pages or other defects. Combines text, illustrations, and musical notation, 72 pp. plus a page-long "Postscript". Book two of the set is Blue Grass Banjo (etc. etc.) by Barry Kornfeld, in the same large format and with the same kind of card wrapper as the Seeger book. This copy is from the second printing of March 1965. Very little text -- almost entirely songs in music notation. Includes three version of Little Maggie, Going Down the Road Feeling Bad, Cripple Creek, Mountain Dew, Black Mountain Rag, and others. Like the Seeger, unusually clean internally, with no names, underlining, marginalia, dogears etc., and the stapled binding is similarly stout and untroubled. 32 pp. although the final one is a page of advertisements for other titles in the series.
