Ron Rothman owner of Rothman's Dept. Store, Inc. in Southold NY, a 90+year old, old time General Store catering to the local and tourist trade of the North Fork and strives to remain one of the last remaining of it's kind on Long Island. The store's 1st line of guitars were Harmony, now they have evolved to selling CF Martin and Taylor guitars. The interest in Harmony came about because everybody's 1st guitar was a Harmony, but there was little information on them. Through a series of articles in Rothman's Guitars News and 20th Century Guitar Magazine this book came about. Ron's photographic background and interest in this prolific manufacturer of USA guitars brought the chemistry for this book. And here it is for everyone who's 1st guitar was a Harmony.Review:
Ron Rothman (Rothman's Guitars) has spent years gathering information about one of America's most prolific, if not most quality conscious, guitars companies of the 20the century.......Mr. Rothman has done a fine job of bringing to the fore the story of this often times overlooked, but nevertheless important, chapter of the history of the guitar in 20th century America. --Twentieth Century Guitar Magazine 11/06
Documentation includes photos and catalog reproductions......A truly comprehensive book on Harmony would be quite an undertaking,.... Rothman is off to a good start ---Vintage Guitar Magazine 12/06
