Life comes undone for all of us and when it does we live with the pain, uncertainty and questions that come with it. When Life Comes Undone can help you navigate those times when life is hard and hope is scarce from a biblical perspective. The book is written out of deep personal experience with catastrophic illnesses and speaks to the question of suffering with the candor and honesty that comes from grappling with pain first hand. In the midst of pain and suffering this book will help you:
· Turn your human scars into divine scars
· Understand why bad things happen to God’s people
· Develop bold faith and understand God’s grace and love
· Pray boldly
· Take life back
· Experience the freedom that pain can bring
· See how God takes the pain in our lives and turns it into something good and meaningful
T.J. writes that life undone moments are unlikely gifts that forge deeper faith and closer relationship with our God. The book looks at pain and suffering from both a human and divine perspective and shows how hard times forge God’s character in us like nothing else can. It is a book of hope when life looks hopeless.
EUGENE H. PETERSON is a writer, poet, and retired pastor. He has authored more than thirty-four books (not including The Message). He is Professor Emeritus of Spiritual Theology at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia. Eugene also founded Christ Our King Presbyterian Church in Bel Air, Maryland, where he ministered for twenty-nine years. After teaching at a seminary, he created The Message, a vibrant Bible paraphrase that connects with today's readers like no other.
It took Peterson ten years to complete. He worked not from any English text but from the original Hebrew and Greek texts to guarantee authenticity. At the same time, his ear was always tuned to the cadence and energy of the English spoken every day on the streets. He lives with his wife, Jan, in Montana.
