About the Author:

Hans-Ulrich Meier earned a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering and aerospace technology at the TH Braunschweig. His positions have included Associate Scientist at the Aerodynamics Department of the Aerodynamic Test Establishment (AVA) Göttingen, Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Maryland and Visiting Consultant at the Naval Ordnance Laboratory, Professor at the TU Clausthal, and Honorary Professor at the Nanjing Aeronautical Institute in China. He was on the Board of Directors of the von Kármán Institute of Fluid Dynamics and Head of the DGLR Department of Fluid- and Gasdynamics.
