The Code is a small, concise, pocketbook version of Title 16, The Criminal Code of Georgia. O.C.G.A. 16-1-1 (LexisNexis 2007). It breaks down the key components of Georgia criminal law into a manageable, quick reference guide. This book is for lawyers new and old, as well as non-lawyers. In order to facilitate the user, the book has been divided into 7 categories. The book does not contain every crime listed in Title 16. The crimes were selected based on how commonly they are charged and their relationship to other crimes.

The Code provides a pocket-sized, concise, practical reference to the Georgia code and also includes caselaw references. It's an excellent alternative to hauling around the official code book, which is often impractical to carry around from courtroom to courtroom on a daily basis. --Charles M. Clapp, esq.
This is a great book for new and old attorneys alike. It is small enough to fit in your purse (or pocket) and it has all of the information that you would ever need to reference when you are in court. The elements of crimes are explained in brief but complete and helpful detail; the sentence ranges are included and are easily identified in gray boxes at the end of the section. In addition, alternative sentencing is explained in an appendix and the recidivist statute is explained. I would highly recommend this book to any attorney practicing criminal law who wants helpful information at their fingertips. --Martha Woods, esq.
