This contemporary novel of love and war tells the story of David, an American scientist, who rejects conventional thinking in his attempt to understand the forces that shape the Middle East and America’s role in it. He concludes that the best strategy for the United States to win the war in Iraq and reestablish its leadership in the world is an attack on Iran. He suggests that the Israel-Hezbollah War in Lebanon in 2006 was merely a test pilot in preparation for the attack on Iran. In his pursuit to understand the ill-advised Israeli military strategy against Hezbollah, he meets Yechiam, a captain in the Israeli paratroopers, and Bat-Am, a poet. David develops a friendship with Yechiam and an intimate relationship with Bat-Am. His love affair with Bat-Am is equally unconventional and evolves in the Israeli desert and the Iguaçu Water Falls in Brazil.
