Shahzad Rizvi was born and raised in a princely state in India. As a child he witnessed India's transition from British colony to independence. Surrounded by poets and literary scholars, he developed his passion for literature at an early age. Often the youngest student in his class, he quickly advanced through school; completing a Masters degree in English by age 23.
Determined to explore the world, he went on to complete doctoral and post-doctoral work in the United States and Europe. Now, a novelist, poet and distinguished scholar on two continents, he lives near Washington D.C.and works in international relations.
He continues to enjoy traveling, reading, and mastering new languages, but storytelling remains his greatest passion. His numerous stories and poems weave intricate tapestries of mystery, intrigue, romance and suspense.
