Review:

"SWAMPMEN' EXPLORES THE FERTILE GROUND OF AN UNLIKELY SUBGENRE."  J. Caleb Mozzocco, Comic Book Resources

"Swampmen: Muck-Monsters and Their Makers is a unique and fun-filled journey into all comics swamp-like. Fans of the genre and those looking to expand their horizons beyond typical comic book fare are invited to come wade through the muck of great interviews, personal histories, and disgustingly great artwork here as though to say "Come on in, the swamp is fine." Gross! - Chris Mitchell, Popzara

"Swampmen: Muck-Monsters of the Comics provides the second double-size CBC Annual and considers the range of characters and scenarios that comprised 'swamp men' such as The Heap, Bog Beast, and more. A range of illustrators, writers, and more are surveyed with black and white images accompanying details about photo shoots, graphic novels, book-and-record sets, and plots of stories. There are even color panels and a cover art work by Frank Cho and a history of the evolution of Swamp Thing underground horror culture, making this a pick for any who would absorb the peculiar evolution of the 'swamp thing culture' in the world of graphic novels and comics." - James A. Cox, Midwest Book Review

"I especially enjoyed the Swampmen issue, detailing the history of Swamp Thing, Man-Thing, The Heap, Lurker of the Swamp, and several others." Cameron Hatheway, Bleeding Cool

"I should also point out there is a great varied selection of artwork from the comics and elsewhere, making this volume fascinating. Even without this interest in all creatures swamp, I loved the revealing interviews. This book will keep you reading for a week or so, making it good value for money. If you were raised during the key eras of their creation and title runs then learning about what was happening behind the scenes should relive your own past, too." - Geoff Willmetts, Stephen Hunt's Sfcrowsnest
