Sue Daley was born and raised in the southern suburbs of Sydney, Australia. She worked for many years as a detail draftsperson, but her love of fabric and design was so great that eventually it took over her life. Her mother Bobbie was, and still is, a beautiful embroiderer. Her grandmother was also a patchworker, but it wasn't until she turned 100 years old that Sue became aware of this. She had only met her grandmother one time, in 1978, and because she lived in the United Kingdom, she was not aware that they shared the same passion in patchwork. After she passed away at the age of 102, Sue received a parcel in the post and much to her surprise, inside was an English Paper Pieced hexagon quilt made by her grandmother. Sue now lives on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. When she is not travelling the world sharing her love of patchwork, Sue spends her time designing new patterns and writing books for the patchwork industry.
