Earl Rogers, a native Californian, graduated from Beverly Hills High School and UCLA. He is the son of Bogart Rogers, a former Hollywood screen and short story writer, and he is a nephew of Adela Rogers St Johns, author and sports writer for the Hearst newspapers. Mr. Rogers has lived in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Sacramento and has hiked and backpacked extensively in the mountains of California. He has published two books, A Yankee Ace in the RAF, a collaborative work published by the University Press of Kansas, and Flying the Rim, a memoir about aerial prospecting for uranium. He has written numerous articles for travel, outdoor, and aviation publications and local newspapers.
