Some say that when we are born, our life is like a blank sheet of paper. What we become, along with the life experiences we encounter, are what is written on that sheet. That is true and not true. Therefore I have some idea how the image will unfold. When I use a different paper or ink, the results of the same techniques render a much different image on the paper's surface. Our individual lives are preciously different, in spite of the common life experiences we share, because our starting sheets are unique. The visual and oral images carried on the pages of this volume convey, with simplicity and conciseness, their author's perception of our cultural ethos.
