J.N. Jim Whiddon, who has spent much of his career in the financial services industry, has owned and operated his own companies for more than thirty years. He hosted his own radio show for five years, including a stint with CNN Headline News in Dallas. He also has been often interviewed and quoted by national media outlets such as Fortune magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and CNBC. Whiddon founded The Old School in 2014 with a mission of conveying timeless tools of interpersonal communication and wisdom to make life-long leaders among students, professionals, and mentors alike. With this goal in mind, he wrote The Old School Advantage, which is his fourth book. He prepared for it by reading more than four hundred other books for the purpose of research. His other published works are There for the Taking, Wealth Without Worry, and The Investing Revolutionaries. He earned his bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and a master of science from The American College in Philadelphia. Whiddon is involved in his local church, enjoys playing guitar, and loves all sports. He lives in Dallas with his wife, Nizie. They have four children, ages sixteen to twenty-three.
