9781615070374: Spa for the Soul: Rejuvenate Your Inner Life

Have you ever uttered such a prayer in the midst of a desert experience? Do you long for a balanced life where body and soul are in harmony as God intended? Then pamper yourself with a spa for your soul -- a journey of seeking health physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Since the word 'spa' comes from the Latin acronym salus per aquam - health by water - you are encouraged to draw near to God as He leads you 'beside still waters and restores your soul' (Psalm 23) Spa for the Soul takes you through various spa treatments both figuratively and literally as biblical stories and practical examples are used to offer encouragement and rejuvenation both inside and out. Each chapter includes a discussion and application section - Spiritual Personal Assessment - which can be done alone or in a small group setting. Join us on a journey through the many 'spa treatments' as we together seek balance in our lives so that we indeed might be all God created us to be -- whole, healed, empowered and healthy! "Rest in God alone, my soul, for my hope comes from Him" Psalm 62.5 "Spa for the Soul is like a refreshing breeze on a hot summer day. With her usual bottom-line honesty, Lucinda Secrest McDowell helps her readers to understand the importance of taking time for personal renewal, physical rest, and spiritual replenishment. Your mind and heart will be revitalized with key quotes, biblical insights, and practical applications. This is a book for women like me who are worn out! Buy one for yourself and ten more to give away" Carol Kent, Speaker and Author, A New Kind of Normal "Spa for the Soul is a catalyst for real change and renewal. If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, then Lucinda's words will be as comforting to your heart and life as those plush white spa robes are to your body! I recommend Spa for the Soul for every woman who longs for a fresh start or hope for her weary heart and body" Pam Farrel
