Review:

"The World Between: The Kriterion Saga" by Belva Rae Staples cleverly tells one story within a story. The boy Georgie often visits an older lady who tells him stories. One day, she starts a longer story about a boy called Alex who is a very bad character. No sane reader will find him likeable. After some very bad deeds in the normal world, he finds his way into a world called Kriterion and this is just what he needs: a whole new world just for his taking! I'd recommend the book to anyone who enjoys fantasy with a bit of fairy tale mixed in."-Kim Anisi for Reader's Choice.

"The Kriterion Saga:The World Between is a superb morality fantasy as the villain's amoral actions impact his family, neighbors and the kingdom. The entertaining metafiction storyline will remind readers of Michael Ende's Neverending Story; as Georgie learns that if he does not change his attitude, he will be the next Alex. Fans will enjoy journeying with Georgie to The World Between."-Midwest Reviews
"A work that blends fantasy and religious allegory with a moral tale, Belva Rae Staples's The World Between presents the story of a young man's twisted quest for power in two worlds. The tale is of Alex Edgecomb, a selfish, indulged young man with a dark, murderous heart who believes the world should bow to him. And when it doesn't, he finds his way to another world, called Kriterion.
The World Between is both fantasy and fable and is reminiscent of Aesop or the Grimm brothers. Staples's story and plot are intriguing, and her writing is sharp."- Foreword/Clarion Review
