Griff's 50 Original Thoughts When I was a boy in elementary and middle school, our school library had one whole long shelf of little blue biographies. I checked out and read every one of those books. I never doubted for a minute that someday they would write a book about me and put it on that shelf. But time seems to have left that task to me, because it has become pretty evident that nobody else is going to write it. Even if I did invent Google Earth. From time to time, I would hear myself saying to people, "Now here's an original Griff thought." Then I would relate some phrase or thought that I felt had originated with me. I couldn't recall anyone ever telling me that item - I couldn't recall ever reading anything which formed the opinion - I just started saying this or that to people over the years. Once again I heard myself telling someone, "Here's an original Griff thought. You're welcome to use it." So I decided that if I was actually contributing original thoughts to the collective knowledge in the marketplace of ideas, then that would be justification enough....Mr. Hitt (remarkable high school English teacher) would approve.
