Hey there! Thanks so much for "adopting" my THRILLERS WITH BITE suspense series. I've always loved stories that make me gasp, laugh out loud, or weep as they take me on a roller-coaster ride. But I'd never found a book or story that dealt with a "dog viewpoint" or cat characters the way it should be done (well, the way that I thought so,anyway!). And as an animal behavior consultant and author of 30+ training, behavior and care books about cats and dogs, I decided finally to write the book that I'd always wanted to read.
The result was LOST AND FOUND. Y'all embraced that book with such glowing reviews, that my virtual tail-wags and purrs must have been noticed around the world. That story of a young autistic child lost in a blizzard with his service dog struck a chord with readers and reviewers, and prompted demands for "what happens next?"
HIDE AND SEEK happens next, and takesplace only a few weeks after the first story ends. In this story, September's tragic history hinted at in the first book returns from the past. Also answering readers' requests, Macy-Cat has his own story line that figures much more prominently in the book. After all, I'm an equal opportunity pet lover!
The third book in the September Day series SHOW AND TELL is now available, and again picks up shortly after the previous book ends. This time around, some of the younger characters from the first two books take center stage, and with September's help and the bravery of a good-dog (and several other cat and dog helpers!). Maybe this time, the happy ending will last...or will it? Stay tuned for the next installment in this pet-centric series.
I hope you enjoy all of these books as much as I do writing them. Watch for notices on my Author Central page about chances to get your pet's name included in the next book, as I've done with theprevious two stories, in my hugely popular NAME THAT DOG and NAME THAT CAT contest.
And yes, it is true you can train cats and understand go behavior. For more on that, refer to one of my nonfiction books on the subject, like ComPETability: Solving Behavior Problems in Your Multi-Dog Household and ComPETability: Solving Behavior Problems in Your Multi-Cat Household.
