Hearing the symptoms of a migraine was like a checklist. Pain longer than seventy-two hours? For me, it had been two months of continuous pain. Throbbing pain, moderate-to-severe pain that interferes with, and prohibits, routine activity? Yes, that was describing my situation. I did not experience nausea or vomiting, but I was definitely very sensitive to the light and sometimes loud noises. Check, check, and checkthat's me. On June 23, 2009, Ted Goodwin experienced the beginning of what became a continuos migraine headache. Reduced to tears by the intensity of the pain in his head, he finally drifted off into a fitful sleep.
