9781629521145: Coffeetown

Two unemployed former classmates from high school who became lovers and then just friends when their unplanned baby dies, are on their way to their homes in Iowa on Christmas Eve. Their car breaks down and they find shelter in an abandoned old country church on the edge of two Iowa towns. God sends two angels to rescue them and they help them to open up a coffee house in the church. Coffeetown tells the trials and tribulations of the many people who frequent the unique place to drink coffee. Circumstances and the lives of the customers cause the love between owners Mary and Jon to blossom once again. Roger Quam lives in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He enjoys gardening, writing, classical music, Bible study and drinking lots of coffee. In 1963 he met his wife Martha on a Greyhound bus and has been happily married for fifty years. They have four children, two grandchildren and attend Prairie Hills Covenant Church. Roger has had 4 careers: as an engineer and plant manager, starting and owning a business, and working at a Christian Rescue Mission. He retired in 2006 from Citibank. He has two degrees from the University of Minnesota-Business and Engineering. In 2003 he was one of twenty U.S. Navy dads invited to spend four days with their sons on the USS Michigan Trident Nuclear Submarine on a Tiger Cruise. He writes in the Christian Adventure Romance style.
