The personage of Mary has played the prominent role not only in Christianity as the Mother of God-she has been venerated in different theological concepts, across number of religious traditions. In Buddhism, Mary is being seen as a fusion of Bodhisattva and Christian Virgin Mary. She is known under the names as 'Maria-Kannon,' or 'Kwan-Yin'. She represents an expression of love-the protectress of people in both, spiritual and physical sense. In Islam tradition, Mary is venerated as the maidservant of Allah. And as such, she is given honorable place in the Koran, where she is honored under the name 'Maryam'. Joseph is a retired head librarian and archivist. He and his wife were forced to leave their homeland in 1968 during the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia. They make their home in Ottawa, Capital of Canada. He earned a master's degree in philosophy from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor's Honors in Natural Sciences from University of Saskatchewan Saskatoon Canada. His spare time is divided between his family, seven grandchildren and different church ministries and education as well writing poems and short stories. He is the author of Four aspects of Jacque Maritains's Philosophy, and Every Day Catholic Reference Book.
