A sixteen year old boy, named Selim, moves with his family to the small northern town of Hidden Bay, in the state of Superior. His father has purchased an old hotel called The Hotel Alexander. Selin soon discovers hidden places within the hotel. which lead to mysteries and secrets. After a family tragedy, Selim decides to move into the secret places and not divulge his existance. Memories of his grandmother and grandfather bring pleasant moments to his quiet time living behind the walls. Growing up in Upper Michigan is an experience that most kids never know. At the time there were only 150,000 people in the entire upper peninsula, and no large cities. People from Upper Michigan are called Yoopers. My parents owned and operated a country store/gas station. It was called the Osier Store. My life there and that store provided me many experiences and a lifetime of memories. Later in life I purchased an old hotel. While remodeling one of the rooms, I cut through a wall to add a bathroom and discovered a shaft running up through the building. This along with the rumors that surrounded the old hotel, and my growing up memories brought me to Selim, Behind the walls. I would keep a small note book with me, and when something would come to mind, I would writeit down until I could fit it into my story. Most is fiction, but the memories are real.
