Review

"Having enjoyed Gutted: Beautiful horror stories, I jumped at the opportunity to take an early look at Behold! Oddities, Curiosities and Undefinable Wonders. As was the case with Gutted, I wasn't disappointed. Edited by Doug Murano, Behold! features stories from a fantastic group of authors whose stories are separated into three groups: Oddities, Curiosities, and Undefinable Wonders. The stories themselves offer a wide range of adventures, some tugging at the heart strings, others creating a perfect sense of dread, and others still making you laugh out loud. Overall, the antholoy was a fun romp through words, each story like a new flavor of candy, ever so sweet and delicious. Favorites of mine were Lisa Morton's "LaRue's Dime Museum," Stephanie Wytovich's poem "An Exhibition of Mother and Monster," John Langan's "Madame Paint: For Sale," Neil Gaiman's "Chivalry," and John F.D. Taff's "A Ware That Will Not Keep."" --Kenneth W. Cain, author of Embers
