Synopsis
The World Tree is dying, threatening the lives of all the clans that inhabit it. Can three Sap Hunters and the last survivor of the Chasm Strider clan find the source of the sacred Tree’s infection in time?
All is not right within the branches of the sacred World Tree. Towering huge, its life-giving sap sustains the many divided clans living within it… until the Chasm Strider clan’s diviner, Pierig, discovers the Tree’s sap has become infected! Before he can warn his clan, tragedy strikes and he is violently captured by the Sap Hunter clan, warriors who demand he use his special divining skills to track the source of the corruption. As the sickness eats away at the World Tree, the party works its way down the levels of the massive Tree, inching closer to its roots. But what secrets do the dense roots hide? How deep will this unlikely group descend to save everything they love?

About the Author
Laurent Genefort was born in 1968 in the Paris region. At the age of 20, he became the youngest author of the Fleuve Noir Anticipation collection with Le Bagne des ténèbres. After studying literature at the Sorbonne, Laurent Genefort devoted himself entirely to writing and in 1995 won the Grand Prix de l'Imaginaire for Arago. He is best-known for the immersive universe that he developed around the space opera Omale. Published for the first time in 2001, the novel is the first in a series of works telling the destinies of three species cohabiting on the planet Omale: the humans, the Chiles and the Hodgqins.
From 2008 to 2012, the writer directed the collection "Les Trésors de la SF" at Bragelonne. In 2017, he participated in the adaptation of his novel Les Peaux épaisses to the graphic novel medium: Thick Skins.
Alexandre Ristorcelli is a French storyboard artist, composer, and comic book artist.
Montana Kane is an author and award-winning translator of over three-hundred and fifty French comics and graphic novels for leading American and European publishers. Humanoids has been fortunate to work with her over the last decade, collaborating on many of their perennial and core sci-fi and genre works and series, including titles from the acclaimed Incal universe and beyond.
