In Seattle, there have been a number of crimes committed by magicians and con artists. No law enforcer has been able to solve these misdeeds, until FBI agent Simon Shakespeare decided to form a team of magicians to help solve these acts of misconduct. Shakespeare is an expert in close up magic, but he knows he needs help when it comes to other specialties of magic, so he recruits cardist Ophelia Brownstone, mentalist Feste Fillmore, stage illusionist Juliet Gardner and escape artist Damon MacBeth. The team solves crimes involving any type of magic tricks and misconduct done to magicians. Their unique understanding of each specialty comes in handy to dissect the scene and create certain profiles of the perpetrators. Their current cases involve a jewel robber from three different cities and leaving a message that no one can decipher. Then, they will have to find out who is robbing five men and how come these men cannot remember how their bank accounts got cleaned out. How will they ever solve these cases?

Conjuring Deception was created after wanting to write about magicians and deception experts solving crimes that only they would have a chance of solving. Part of the inspiration was from a television series that was about solving white collar crimes when a federal agents has the best con artist join his team. The magician touch came from the movie called Now You See Me and my love magic tricks because ever since I was young, I loved magic. Magic tricks are puzzles that I like to solve and enjoy watching performers put everyone in awe. The characters are named after Shakespearean plays because I believe they are interesting and new.
Camilo Iribarren is a biology graduate from York College in Queens, NY. He began writing as soon as he began University of Illinois at Chicago and was able to fully publish Conjuring Deception through Page Publishing. Iribarren's interest in magic tricks began when he was a child, then he was able to practice magic when he was in high school. He also enjoys watching television series about crime solving that involve consultants with special skills. He also enjoys reading detective novels, which is why his favorite writer is Lee Child, the creator of Jack Reacher.
