About the Author

Founder of the Chilmark Writing Workshop on Martha’s Vinyeard, Nancy Slonim Aronie has been writing and performing her essays on NPR since 1986. She has received the Derek Bok Teacher of the Year Award from Harvard University where she taught Literature for Social Reflection for three years. In 1996 she was selected as Artist in Residence for The Gardner Museum in Boston. She lives with her husband of 51 years on Martha’s Vineyard.
