Why are there so many external links?
The book acts as the instructor guiding you through the process of building two layouts. I use codepen demos so you can investigate the code and experiment as needed. Code is fluid, and keeping it trapped inside the book limits exploration and could make the book outdated as code updates are made.

Does this book go in exhaustive detail of Bootstrap 4?
No it does not. I distilled the information to the core of what needs to be understood before diving into each individual component. A common complaint of other Bootstrap books is that they duplicate what can easily be found in the documentation. My book "fills in the gaps" of what I saw was missing.
