Every day thousands trust them with their lives, but what do they know of the men and women who fly the airliners of today. Many would agree that airline pilots are different, but their private lives remain a mystery to all but a few. Michael Collins has been flying for over forty years. 'One More Sunrise' is his story. Revealing in many ways, it follows the path of one man's adventure in the skies. Above all his absolute love of the job comes through. For him this wasn't work it was fun. After 'One More Sunrise' the man in the uniform will never seem the same.

I began writing fiction over ten years ago starting with a modern tale of crime and corruption with a strong aviation bias this was 'The Crew'. Encouraging results led to two more in the series 'The Sweepers' a prequal and then a sequal 'The Body Snatchers'. All three have enjoyed modest success and gathered a loyal band of readers who have followed the rather exciting lives of the three main characters.
Feeling ready for a change of pace and knowing the subject has not been covered, at least not since the days of Earnest K Gann and 'Fate is the Hunter', I thought it time the modern airline pilot's story was told.
In doing so I have tried to keep the technicalities under control emphasising rather the human side of the job.
Whether I have succeeded I leave to you the reader, to decide.
As I recall my first solo flight was in a glider at the tender age of 16 whilst in the airforce cadets, it was a January and landing in the snow is something I still remember.
Since that time I have been continuously in uniform of one sort or another but the machines, both fixed wing and rotary, have got progessively larger culminating in the mighty 747 of Mr Boeing.
With so many years 'up there' it is small wonder that there are stories to be told and in 'One More Sunrise' I have endevoured to dispel some of the myths although in doing so I fear I may have created more.
