This series provides an ideal platform to study chess openings. By continually challenging the reader to answer probing questions throughout the book, the Move by Move format greatly encourages the learning and practicing of vital skills just as much as the traditional assimilation of opening knowledge. Carefully selected questions and answers are designed to keep you actively involved and allow you to monitor your progress as you learn. This is an excellent way to study any chess opening and at the same time improve your general chess skills and knowledge.

The Sicilian Dragon is a famous chess opening and is popular with players of all levels. The main lines often lead to ultra-sharp positions in which both players attack their opponent's king. Seemingly inconsequential mistakes may punished severely, and a good knowledge of the theory and strategies is absolutely vital for success. In this book, FIDE Master Carsten Hansen invites you to join him in studying the Sicilian Dragon and its many variations. Using illustrative games, he explains the main positional and tactical ideas for both sides, provides answers to all the key questions and tells you everything you need to know about successfully playing the Sicilian Dragon.

From the Author:

The Sicilian Dragon has been "my opening" for more than 30 years, playing it against all level of players, from scholastic players to strong grandmasters and I have won far more games than I have lost. It is easily the most exciting opening I have consistently played. While there is a lot of theory in this opening, you thankfully don't have to know and memorize it all. Most books that have published on the Dragon over the last two decades have either been very basic or limited to a specific set of variations based on a repertoire decided upon by the author. In this book, I decided to go in a different direction: try to cover as many lines as possible to give the reader a good idea what all the different variations are about, providing an excellent foundation for playing this magnificent opening with confidence. In addition to presenting all the lines, I have invested a great deal of time and pages on analyzing the games and find improvements in what was played as well as the existing theory.I hope you will enjoy this book and if you do so, leave a review telling me and fellow readers what you found best.

About the Author:
