This is a book about female friendship, with three old school pals, Melissa, Steph and Eilis and how they navigate a particularly tricky moments in their lives. Steph is living miserably with Rick - he is abusive but she cant seem to find the strength to leave. Eilis is exhausted from working as an A& E consultant and longs for affection which isn't forth-coming form her long-term partner and Steph is coping with an alcoholic mother and trying to find some kind of meaning in her life.All three women are very different but they are all facing issues that we all have to tackle. When we reach a certain age, we have to ask ourselves if this is enough and if it isn't what can we do about it. We don't always find the strength to change things overnight but hopefully, we all get there in the end to lead more rewarding and happier lives.
