About the Authors

Timothy R. Levine (Ph.D., Michigan State University) is a professor and chair of the Department of Communication at the University of Oklahoma. He teaches and conducts research on topics related to deception, interpersonal communication, social influence, cross-cultural communication, and social science research methods.

Samantha J. Shebib (Ph.D., Michigan State University) is a social scientist, communication scholar, relationship expert, and assistant professor and associate scientist in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her research interests are embedded in interpersonal and family relationships specifically utilizing a dark side perspective. Dr. Shebib's expertise also lies in advanced statistical analyses and experimental designs.
