Synopsis
2000 AD’s ever-popular Celtic hero returns in a deluxe collectors’ hardback edition!
Before the events of ‘The Horned God’, a group comprising of Sláine; Ukko, his faithful (if evil-smelling) dwarf; Nest, a trainee priestess who knows the secrets of the Land of the Young; and Sláine’s vast, voracious dragon steed, the Knucker, wander Tir-Nan-Og in search of the fortress of the Ever-Living Ones, arch-druids who may hold the key to the final defeat of the evil forces oppressing Sláine’s people.
But a chance encounter with a demonic alien race who are besieging the fortess, hurls Sláine and his allies through time... to ever-greater battles, threats, and challenges!

About the Author
Pat Mills has written countless comics stories, many for 2000 AD, including Judge Dredd, Slaine and A.B.C. Warriors. He also created Marshal Law. Glenn Fabry's cover art has been in great demand in recent years, first on Hellblazer, and latterly on Preacher, for which he drew every single cover.

Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Glenn Fabry, David Pugh, Talbot (illustrator). 1st Edition. Sláine is a barbarian fantasy character based on Celtic myths and stories that first appeared in 1983, written by Pat Mills and initially drawn by his then wife, Angela Kincaid. Most of the early stories were drawn by Massimo Belardinelli and Mike McMahon. Other notable artists to have worked on the character include Glenn Fabry, Simon Bisley, Clint Langley and Simon Davis. Sláine's favourite weapon is an axe called "Brainbiter". He has the power of the "warp spasm", based on the ríastrad or body-distorting battle frenzy of the Irish hero Cú Chulainn, in which earth power "warps" through his body, turning him into a terrifying, monstrously powerful figure. He is a devotee of the earth goddess Danu. Hardcover reprints/collects: Stories from 2000 AD.
