From AudioFile:
This outstanding collection of stories from around the world includes favorites you're sure to know ("The Little Red Hen," "The Three Billy Goats Gruff") and others ("The Magic Porridge Pot," "The Blue Coat") you'll be glad you didn't miss. Hugh Lupton tells listeners that these are tales "to be read aloud," and the collection reveals his skills as a storyteller who understands the power of rhythm and repetition. His perfectly paced narration allows children to follow along and join in with well-loved phrases, and a jaunty tune dividing the tales invites listeners to dance and snap their fingers, underscoring the music of the stories themselves. These tales are classics and will appeal to a wide range of ages. J.C.G. © AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine-- Copyright © AudioFile, Portland, Maine
